Some phenomenon for X540 LAN test on X10DRI-T:
1. Boot into centos, enable X540 LAN, the LAN port Activity &Link LED all show “ON”,use “ethtool eno1” to check LAN link,
 “Link detect” show “YES”, then use command “ifdown eno1” to deactivate the LAN, and  use “ethtool eno1” command show “Link
 detect” show “NO”, but the LAN port Activity & Link LED still show “ON”, the switch LAN port LED also show link status.
2. Use JPL1 to disable the X540 LAN, the Activity &Link LED still show “ON”
3. check the i350 of X10DRL-LN4 has no such symptom.
4. use the JPB1 to disable the IPMI firmware, symptom still exist.

The reported behavior is normal. When disabling LAN1 or LAN2 via jumper, power is still being supplied to the IC. While the LAN device itself is disabled, the PHY can still establish a link with the physical connection with a switch device, shown by the LED ON.
