I get an error message at the very beginning of the flash, which attempting to flash the BIOS of my X5DA8/E: "File open failed on PLATFORM.BIN"

Make sure these files are on your floppy disk: plash.exe, x5da8.bin, phx7505.bat, and the BIOS file DA8xxxx.ROM. Second, at the DOS prompt, type:

a:/>phx7505.bat DA8xxxx.ROM

and the phx7505.bat file will take care of all the required options.
