For ICH9R, you will need to set it to “Adaptec” code base for SATA mode in BIOS main screen.

The SuSE driver for Adaptec ICH9R are located at:

https://www.supermicro.com/wdl/driver/SATA/Adaptec_ICH9R/Linux/11899/SuSE/

You can choose the one corresponding to your OS and update version.

No SuSE driver for Intel code base for ICH9R.
