I have a X8SI6-F system with BPN-SAS2-826EL1 backplane. How do I enable LSI SAS 2008 onboard RAID controller and do I need SGPIO or I2C connections for my SAS HDDs?

You can enable LSI SAS 2008 with JPS1 jumper. No SGPIO or I2C connections are needed. You can use cable such as CBL-0108L-02 to make connection from motherboard to backplane.
