With the 6037R-E1R16N, could I only have 2 drives in raid 1 and 14 drives in a raid 10?

The AOC-SAS2LP-H8iR says it only supports 8 drives. So do I have to buy 2 AOC-SAS2LP-H8iR cards to support 16 drives in raid?

Yes. you can set two hard drives as Raid Level 1 and second set of raid level 10 with 14 drives.

You needn't buy extra controller. The AOC-SAS2LP-H8iR raid controller supports expander and meanwhile the chassis including with backplane also supports expander which is able to go up to 256 drives.
