How do you utilize the PME Wake-On-LAN(WOL) function on Supermicro's board?

WOL function is available on most Supermicro's motherboards that have onboard LAN. In order to use this function correctly, the following requirements must be met:

  1. This feature primarily works with the Windows OS environment (If you are a Linux or UNIX user, please contact your OS provider for more instructions)
  2. LAN driver is installed
  3. You are able to access network and internet
  4. Make sure that you allow the LAN to wake up the system from standby mode under Device Manager as well as enable the PME function
  5. Use appropriate WOL software to wake up, one such software can be obtained from AMD (PCnet Magic Packet Utility).
