I was looking at your X9DRE-TF+


It says it supports

"Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 and E5-2600 v2 family† (up to 135W TDP **)"


With its Intel® C602J chipset. I read the specification of that chipset,

and saw that it may support E7-2890 v2.

I realize it has higher TDP and is not stated to be supported, but I wanted to ask to be sure.

X9DRE-TF+ motherboard only supports Intel® Xeon® processor E5-26xx and E5-26xx v2 family. You read the specification of that chipset,

and saw that it may support E7-2890 v2. But because E5-26xx V2 uses Socket R and E7-28xx Series is using Socket R1. Therefore, it will not work.
