San Jose, California, June 6, 2006 – Super Micro Computer, Inc., a leader in high-quality servers, motherboards and chassis, now offers a full line of A+ server solutions that support the very latest Dual-Core AMD Opteron™ processors. Designed to minimize overall server power consumption and reduce cooling requirements, Supermicro A+ servers also deliver industry-leading performance. Prime examples of the company's engineering prowess, these two high-density, cutting-edge, quad-processor servers are among the extensive line of Opteron solutions that Supermicro is demonstrating at Computex 2006 (Hall 1, Booths B826, B828, B925 & B927) in the Taipei World Trade Center, June 6-10.

Supermicro's AS1040C-8 1U quad-server is powered by the H8QC8+ serverboard, which supports four Dual-Core Opteron 800 Series processors and features two 1000MHz HyperTransport links. Based on the nVidia nForce Pro 2200 and AMD 8132 chipsets, it supports 16 DIMM slots and is optimized for Supermicro's 1U SC818S+-1000 chassis, which packs a high-efficiency 1000-watt power supply. Designed to power today's most demanding business applications, this high-density 4-way enterprise server supports all 800 Series Opteron processors including the latest Model 885 operating at 2.6GHz Dual-Core.

"Supermicro offers a very strong portfolio of high-quality, reliable and stable A+ server solutions that deliver outstanding performance-per-watt," said Alex Hsu, senior vice president, Super Micro Computer, Inc. "Designed with uncompromising quality control, our advanced A+ dual-core solutions are ideal for the most critical of applications."

The other impressive quad-server on display is the AS4040C-8R featuring the H8QC8 serverboard, which is optimized for Supermicro's convertible 4U/tower SC748S+-R1000 chassis with redundant high-efficiency 1000-watt power supplies. This high-end, 4-way enterprise server supports all 800 Series Opteron processors and delivers unsurpassed performance and reliability.

In addition to high-end servers, Supermicro also produces cost-effective, single-processor servers. Based on the Serverworks HT1000 chipset and supporting a dual-core Opteron processor, the AS1010S-T is an AMD Validated Server, as are a host of other Supermicro A+ servers. This additional qualification provides Supermicro's distributors with the added assurance that Supermicro A+ servers are collaboratively tested by AMD and Supermicro for quality, compatibility, longevity and stability.
