Question |
couldn’t get the 6036ST-6LR detect the hard drives. I had tried both SATA & SAS drives. |

Answer |
When the SATA drive is used in this SSB (Storage Bridge Bay), an interposer (AOC-SMP-LSISS9252, for example) must be installed first before insert the hard disk tray into the slot. If the SAS drive is used, no interposer is needed. That’s why there are two positions for the hard drive in the hot-swap hard disk tray. With the interposer, the hard drive needs to be installed to the position toward the front, which is away from the hard disk backplane in the chassis. If the SAS drive is used, the hard drive needs to be installed in the position closer to the backplane, otherwise it won’t reach the hard disk backplane. |
