Question
The expander backplane of the SC936E1-R900B chassis and the mini-SAS backplane of the SC936A-R900B chassis are very similar. Can I just purchase the BPN-SAS-936A backplane and install it in place of the BPN-SAS-936EL1 backplane?

Yes, you can replace the BPN-SAS-936A backplane with the BPN-SAS-936EL1. Your warranty will be void if you do it by yourself.
