Question
Does the backplane in SC216E16-R1200LPB support the delayed spin-up? I am using the SSD in it.

Answer
There is no delayed stack-up spinning in the backplane hardware. The +12V and +5V supply are passed directly from the power supply to the SAS/SATA drive power connectors on the backplanes. The delayed stack-up spinning feature is available through the MFG in the backplane. However, the delay spinning function is for hard drive with the spindle motor. The function powers up all the hard drives in the chassis, then delay drives’ spin-up by group. This function will not help in your case, because the solid-state drive has no spindle motor. When they power on, all the SSD drives start taking the current at the beginning.
