Question
I have a X9DRD-7LN4F with a Gb switch for both data and IPMI connection. The LAN ports work fine
with this switch but when connecting the IPMI port to it, the LED on the LAN port will remain off
and there is no way to access IPMI whatsoever. I tried a 100Mb switch and worked straight out.

Are we aware of any compatibility issue with IPMI and Gb switch? Is there any work around other
than having a separate 100Mb switch for IPMI connections?

IPMI works on 10/100 connection and piggybacks off the NIC's 1Gb connection when on the shared LAN.
Please use the Shared LAN for IPMI instead of the dedicated if you want to access the IPMI through a 1Gb switch.
