We have X9SCL-F and all we get is four beeps. What could this beep code mean?

Answer
You most likely have a version 2, E3 CPU. This will only work with an updated BIOS. Please use a version 1 CPU to flash the BIOS, or send in for RMA to have the BIOS flashed to BIOS 2.0A or later.
