Question
I have the system using Nehalem-EP series platform. There is always a problem when I try to press restart button from Start-Restart icon. During the restarting, the system will hang in black screen (no POST coming afterward). What should I do?

This is XP known issue and could be fixed by Microsoft release hotfix:

Or you can disable C-State in BIOS->BIOS->Advanced->Processor & Clock Options->IntelR C-STATE tech; Then "Disable" C-State tech. However, for disabling BIOS, you will not be able to use power saving tech.
