I have the 1011M-URB server. On page 12 of the H8SMU motherboard manual, it says:
The H8SMU accommodates 12V ATX power supplies. Although most power supplies generally meet the specifications required by the CPU, some are inadequate. Important: a 3A or greater current supply on the 5V Standby rail is required.
Do I need to use the power supplies that have 3A on the 5vsb rail?
The H8SMU motherboard connects the USB port to 5vsb, instead of 5V_dual rail. If the USB loading is heavy, a 5vsb rail with over 3A is required. If there aren’t a lot of USB devices, you don’t need it. One example is the 1011M-NiB server. The power supply in it only provides 2A on the 5V Standby rail.
