Question
We are purchasing the X9SCA-F motherboard and have some questions about the on-board RAID. We will be loading a Windows 2008 R2 Server OS, and would the Intel or LSI RAID firmware be best for this OS?

Answer
Generally it is better to choose the Intel RAID for Windows OS installs. The Intel can do RAID sets 0,1,5 & 10. The LSI firmware is added for Linux OS support, and also limited to RAID 0, 1, and 10 only. Intel drivers are usually updated more often and only supports Windows OS installs.
