Question
We have bought your H8QG(6)(i)-F board and we need to measure power on that board. What we would like to know is if there are some voltage/current measurement points on the board to record power consumption of CPUs (for each) memorys and buses. I see on the manual that the board has a Power I2C connector, in which way can I use it? Which kind of data IPMI let me record?

Answer
There are no test points on M/B. You need to lift-up input choke of switching power and re-connect wire for CPU and Memory power consumption measure. It is easy to damage or burn the boards because of tight PCB layout. We do not recommend our customer to perform this kind of test to our motherboard.

For the I2C, you can SMCIPMITOOL with the “pminfo” switch to obtain the voltage & current of A/C input and +12V DC output from a power supply that support PMBus v2.0. However, it won't show the individual power consumption for CPUs, memory and buses, nor different voltages.. Below is an example:

SIM-KVM-IPMI>pminfo
