Question
I just purchased a Supermicro X9SCM-F motherboard and am setting up a new server with it. I intend on setting it up with 32Gb RAM, and ordered in 4 Kingston DIMM’s, specifically their part # KVR1333D3D4R9S. The system is all put together - when the RAM is installed and the system powered up, I get a “No memory detected in the system” BIOS error beep code (5 short + 1 long). I have tried all combinations that I can think of, but still continue to get the same error.

Answer
You are using the wrong type of memories. X9SCM-F only supports DDR3 ECC Un-Buffered memory (UDIMM)
