With the X9SCL BIOS is it possible to set ATA password for the SSD? I cannot see this option in BIOS however on Intel's site it has:
“To complete the physical security layer of protection, encryption needs to be paired with an ATA user password (also known as the drive password). The drive password is a security feature of the ATA specification. Unlike encryption, which is automatically enabled on the Intel SSD 320 Series, the drive password must be set by the user via the BIOS configuration”

Is this feature supported on the X9SCL? If not is this supported on any X9 motherboards?
The motherboard doesn't support the ATA password for SSD. Another way to encrypt the SSD is to use a TPM. If M/B support TPM should support encryption function,

This header is used to connect a Trusted Platform Module (TPM), available from a third-party vendor. A TPM is a security device that allows encryption and authentication of hard drives. It enables the motherboard to deny access if the TPM associated with the hard drive is not installed in the system.
