I can't install the nVidia Quandro 6000/5000 GPU graphic card on SYS-8047R-7RFT+. Windows shows warning message (yellow exclamation mark) under device manager even when I update the driver. How do I make it to work?
It happens due to the memory addressable of 512GB limitation on Windows OS and the nVidia Quadro Graphics cards. For instance, if you install nVidia Quadro 6000 graphic card running Windows OS on the server such as SYS-8047-7RFT+ which has memory larger than 512GB populated, you should use the following procedure as the workaround:
1. Boot into Windows OS
2. Run as Administrator and go to start -> run -> msconfig.exe -> BOOT -> ADVANCED OPTIONS, check Maximum memory checkbox and input 518144(506*1024).
3. Restart the system and you should not see the yellow exclamation mark anymore. The usable memory is 504GB and 2GB memory is reserved for the graphic card.
Notes: Within the Linux environment, these limitations do not apply.
