Are SMC boards with PCIe 3.0 slots backward compatible with PCIe 2.0 and PCIe 1.0?

Answer
Yes, SMC boards follow PCIe 3.0 standard specification and are backward compatible.
Based on PCI-SIG (PCIe specification Working Group), PCIe 3.0 devices are both backward
and forward compatible. Some device manufacturers and vendors built non-compliant PCIe
devices and they could be problematic. Please confirm with manufacturer for the specific
device that you're using.
