Question
I have the the X8DAL-3 motehrboard and a e5502 cpu. When running a gentoo kernel with one cpu in the CPU 0 socket, I get a hang on boot with regards to the ACPI state on CPU1 and 2. What is the problem?

Answer
Go into your bios and there is a C State function in Advaned. Disable this and that issue will go away.
