Could you please link to latest BPN-SAS-846EL2 Firmware? old link to firmware on support/faq's no longer exists and the backplane is having trouble negotiating 3.0Gb/s with 6.0Gb/s drives that work in updated chassis.

No link for backplane FW. It’s only done at production line because it too dangerous for end user to use. Please contact our technical support for help.
