The Super Micro motherboard web page for this board states that it supports Xeon 5400 series Clovertown CPUs. I have purchased four Xeon e5472 CPUs for two different X7DBN motherboards and none of them work. The computer starts but never posts, with no video signal. On both boards, using just 1 of any of the 4 CPUs at a time, the overheat led lights up immediately after hitting the power button and stays on. I have tried swapping out CPUs, etc. I can put in a XEON 5130 CPU in the socket and the computer starts and posts fine and I can get into the BIOS. I have the latest BIOS rev 2.1a installed. Are you sure the 5400 Harpertown series processors are supported on this board?
If the motherboard was released after October 2006 it supports Intel Xeon 5400 series. However your Intel E5472 processors spec is 1600mhz FSB and it will not support and run on X7DBN motherboard. The motherboard only supports up to 1333mhz FSB.
