Question
I have the 745S2-700 chassis. Its PWS-0065 (or SP700-1R) power supply is EOL-ed. I am replacing with the PWS-702A-1R power supply. I also need to replace the PDB. According to the webpage, I need the CSE-PT745-PDN24 & PDB-PT745-8824. I have them here with me now. However I can only use one of the two PDBs. Which one should I use?

Answer
The CSE-PT745-PDN24 has one 4-pin & one 8-pin +12V connectors from the power supply which is optimized for X7 series motherboards. The PDB-PT745-8824 is newer, and has two 8-pin connectors, which is optimized for X8 series and later motherboards. These two PDBs shall be compatible with any Supermicro motherboard. You can use any one of them, unless your whole system configuration requires more Amp from the +12V rail.
