Question
I'm looking to put an H8SCM-F in a mid-tower case, so the board would be vertical. The quiet CPU coolers I've looked at weigh 1-2 pounds, which, to me, looks like a fair bit of torque for a circuit board. Are the boards strong enough to support a 1 pound or so weight for years without warping and breaking the circuit traces?

Answer
According to AMD Socket C32 specs, the weight of the CPU heat sink cannot exceed 450 grams for a stand-alone mounting back plate. If the CPU heat sink weight is more than 450 grams and up to 750 grams, it is required additional mechanical support, such as direct chassis attach.
