Question
Our customer is asking since there are three controllers on this server SSG-2027R-AR24, will they be limited to how many disks they can use per RAID array? Are the three controllers linked together so they can make use of 20 drives if they choose to on ONE RAID array? Can the customer have a RAID 10 with 10x SSDs and 1x SSD as a hot spare?

Answer
The SSG-2027R-AR24 is using A backplane. Each miniSAS port connects to 4 hard drives internally. There will be total of 6 miniSAS ports on backplane. Assume each raid controller card has 2 miniSAS ports. Each raid controller card is only able to detect up to 8 hard drives. Each raid controller cannot see other hard drives that connected to other raid controllers.
