I am using the Yafuflash utility for the onboard embedded IPMI module to flash the firmware but I am getting the error saying “Medium Error 1”. How do I fix this error?

This error is being caused because the setting for the virtual media is set to “Auto Attach”. There are two ways to change this:

a. Go into the web interface and go to Configuration -> Remote Session and change the virtual media attach mode to “Attach”.

b. Run the foll ipmi tool command:

Ipmitool –H -U -P raw 0x40 0x70 0x0b 0x##

## = 00 = Attach

## = 01 = Auto Attach

## = 02 = Dettach

If you are working on the local machine do not include the –H, -U, -P parameters.
