We are using your X7SBI main board and SIMSO+ IPMI card. I will be using onboard LAN1 for IPMI. Is there any limitation of using onboard LAN1?

X7SBI has Intel 82573 LAN NIC. There will be following limitation of using onboard LAN for IPMI

• IPMI IP addresses cannot be pinged
• The KVM feature is disabled
• IPMI can only be accessed through the IPMIview or IPMItool programs.

These limitations can be overcome by using IPMI dedicated LAN.
