We have a X8SIL-F with RAID card 51645 16-port RAID controller installed. Now the on-board RAID will not boot. Is there a way to get the SATA HostRAID to still be used as the bootable controller?

Answer
Yes, go into the BIOS settings in Advanced -> PNP Configuration, and then disable the option ROM for the PCI slot of your RAID controller. Save the settings and re-boot.
