How many layers of cascading can I be able to connect my storage via onboard storage controller,LSI 1068e?

For LSI 1068e, it has maximum enclosure set to 3. It means it will only support maximum expanders/layers at limited 3. The excess of cascading will cause some of HDDs are not shown and supported.
