On the BPN-SAS2-836EL1 backplane, next to the SAS_IN connector there is a small gold connector like the mini-USB connector. What is it for?

The mini-USB port is used to connect a mini-USB-to-RJ45 dongle for the backplane firmware update. It’s the same dongle used in SIMxx IPMI cards.
