Can we put your standard Xl710 NIC AOC-STG-i4T into a Supermicro X9DR3-LN4F+ motherboard and use it right away or do we need any special hardware or software to make the NIC compatible?

This is a standard card and should work fine with your system. All you need to do, is plug in the card in the correct PCIe slot and install the correct drivers. The card should be ready to use.
