Question
I have a few questions regarding the 6026TT-BTRF SuperServer:

1. Does the ICH10R work great with 3 RAID5 drives?

2. How does it compare to the HighPoint card?

3. Do you have any recommendations for RAID5 in this server since it only support 3 drives in each node?

Answer
1. Yes, the on-board Intel ICH10R south bridge raid controller can be set up with 3 hard drives in RAID level 5.

2. The add-on PCI RAID controller is a hardware RAID controller. The on-board SATA controller is just Host RAID. Hardware RAID controller has IO processor support, so it has better performance than the on-board Host RAID controller; however, the specifications of server do not support any add-on RAID controllers because the form factor support of the server is cableless.

3. Use an on-board Intel south bridge SATA controller with Intel's code base firmware as RAID level 5 with the three hard drives.
