We have a 846E16-R1200B chassis. By optional part list on your website I see CSE-PTJBOD-CB2. When do I need this part?

This card is used when you want to turn the chassis in to a storage box, without a mainboard. You can connect I2c, fans, and power button. You connect the drives to a server by using a external Ipass cable.
