Question
We observed the packet losses from the video streaming multicast session, when playing the video with the receiver/player in X8DTL-3F. Please let us know how to fix this issue.

The Intel 82574 LAN controller on X8DTL-3 motherboard has this issue. The firmware (EEPROM) released in March 2010 or later provides a workaround. Below are the firmware and the instruction to flash the firmware.

Steps to flash onboard LAN EEPROM

1. Download firmware 82574-8.zip here, or contact Supermicro Tech Support for the latest firmware.
2. Extract the files and Copy them to a bootable USB stick or to a bootable floppy disk.
3. Boot up the system using the USB stick.
4. At the command prompt type --- LN2F bat
5. Enter the 48-bit LAN MAC address, when prompted.
6. Power cycle (remove power cord) the system.
7. Reinstall the LAN drivers after EEPROM is flashed.
