The MB is X8DAE. We had encountered a problem at production site. The problem is when we click the restart icon at the WinXP OS; the system will start to shut down but WITHOUT rebooting (Blank screen).
The CPU and Power supply fans are still running, the monitor becomes blank screen and it will hang there before we do a Hard reset or Hard power-down.
This symptom is not always true, but out of 5 times, at least 3 times will fail to restart.
The worst is when we even had seen without any ADD-On cards, just WinXP and onboard X8DAE driver, it also failed to restart. But this occurs maybe 1 out of 10 times. We haven’t had any clue whether it is caused by Bios setting, Hardware or OS issues. Please advice the possible causes.
