Why my OS won’t run on my SuperServer 5086B-TRF (X8OBN 8-way system)?

Older versions of OS don’t support x2APIC. If the version of your OS doesn’t support x2APIC and you are using Westmere-EX CPUs, in “Local APIC Mode” selections of BIOS setup, please select “Compatible APIC Mode.” The default setting is “Auto” and is for the versions of OS that support x2APIC.
