I currently have an X9DRL-IF motherboard. The real way I want to setup Quad Memory Channel by using 4 sticks and 2 CPUs is to fill all 4 slots next to CPU0 (A1, B1, C1, D1). Is it a valid setup?

Answer
You can’t install 4-DIMM module on the quad memory channel with single processors. The memory channel is directly connected to the CPU. Please see the chipset block diagram below.
