Question
We have installed Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 on our 6015W Super Server. After the installation we observed several software glitches which we are not sure are hardware related. However one thing actually indicates a hardware incompatibility.

There are some yellow marks under system device called "Intel chipset QuickData Technology Device." Updating the BIOS to the latest one downloaded from Supermicro website (7DWUB048 rev 1.2) did not resolve the problem. Is it a known issue for this operating system?

Answer
After OS install, you would still need to install all drivers from CD or latest from FTP at:
https://www.supermicro.com/wdl/CDR-X7_1.33_for_Intel_X7_platform/

ftp.supermicro.com/CDR-X7_1.33_for_Intel_X7_platform/Intel/INF/Chipset_v8.6.0.1007/

even though Win 2008 have built-in drivers for almost all devices. If you don’t load drivers from SMC CD, you would see this yellow mark.
