I have recently purchased an X8SI6-F motherboard and a Xeon L3406 CPU. However, I get the message on post screen “This CPU is not supported” during the boot process. This issue is covered in the Supermicro FAQ here.

Use this attachment BIOS ROM and update to correct the post message on screen.
