Networking Options (with 10, 25, or 40GB Data Switches)

Standard configurations include two types of Ethernet switches - one for consolidation of management/IPMI traffic and another for use in networking data traffic. The management switch is common to all three system options. The data switch options range from a 10Gbps switch at the "Value" option, to a 25Gbps switch for the "Balanced" option, or a 40Gbps switch for the "Performance" option.

1 – The 10 GbE Data switch and 40 GbE Data switch options require a Cumulus OS for all switches in the solution. The Cumulus OS licenses for both the data and management switches are obtained through Supermicro.

2 – The 25 GbE Data switch option requires the Supermicro (SMIS) OS for all switches in the solution. The SMIS OS for the management switch is obtained using the provided SKU. The SMIS OS for the data switch is included with the switch.

Supermicro® Secure OpenStack Solution

Protecting sensitive data against cyber security threats is becoming a challenging task of every IT professional. Software-only defense options such as perimeter firewalls are no longer sufficient against threats that target deeper layers of the platform stack. A comprehensive, multi-layered full stack approach is needed to safeguard high-value, sensitive data by ensuring every component of the platform is in a known, trusted state.

Supermicro, Intel, Lockheed Martin, and Canonical have partnered to create a unique Secure OpenStack Solution that offers robust security from boot through runtime with high QoS (Quality of Service) and deterministic performance supporting virtualized environments.
