My client is going to buy a new SQL server. I am interested in this configuration.

Here is the question:
“ Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Standard Edition cannot run on a system with more than 64 logical cores in a single NUMA node:
• Logical processor limit
SQL Server 2022 Update 11 introduced a breaking change that limits the maximum number of logical processors in a single NUMA node to 64.
• Compute capacity limit
The maximum compute capacity for a single instance of SQL Server Standard Edition is 24 cores or 4 virtual CPUs (vCPUs), whichever is less.
If you try to run SQL Server Standard Edition on a system with more than 64 logical cores in a single NUMA node, the SQL Server service will not start. “
Microsoft post some solution on their forum. I am not sure whether it works on Supermicro system.
