Your technical support stated that the old X5DP8-G2 motherboard can support dual Intel Xeon up to 3.2ghz with 604pins socket processor. I ordered two Intel Xeon L7345 CPU (http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=31797). They are socket 604 and 1.86GHz, but system fails to POST. Any ideas what the problem is?
Yes, the motherboard does support dual Intel Xeon processors up to 3.2ghz, but only those from the “DP” Xeon family. The Intel Xeon 7345 CPU is "MP" (multi-processor family) and is not supported on X5DP8-G2 motherboard. The X5DP8-G2 motherboard is based on Intel 7501 chipset family and only supports the DP processor family at 533mhz / 400mhz FSB (front-side bus) only.
