On the X7SBi motherboard, we are monitoring the system under Linux using LM_Sensors. We are experiencing an issue of erratic readings (the OH alarm will sound, and the OH LED will turn on solid.) What is happening here?
The onboard BMC is using the I2C bus to monitor the motherboard. And lm_sensor is also using the same bus to checking the motherboard status. As a result, it would crash if both applications are running at the same time using the same bus. It is highly recommended for customer to use our Super Doctor II for motherboard monitoring. It basically gets the signal from the BMC and reports the value. Below is the link for Super Doctor II from our FTP site:
