We have a C7SIM-Q board and use the onboard sata raid. We also connected a Samsung SH-S223C DVD drive. It takes a very long time when starting for the system to recognise the Samsung SH-S223C DVD.

This is a firmware issue of your dvd drive. Please update the dvd drive firmware: Samsung DVD Firmware downloads
