Question
I am going to configure 3TB LUN for my iSCSI volume in VMware by using 7226T- T2 blade. However, I am unable to do this and only get less than 2TB LUN in VMware. Any idea to expand this LUN supporting greater than 2TB?

Answer
Vmware vSphere 4.0/4.1 does not support larger than 2TB LUN in iSCSI volume. This is limited by Vmware. (the largest block size is limited at 8MB which creating 2048GB as maximum support. Please check the VMware user guide!). But there is a workaround, for example 3TB creation.
Procedure:
1. Create 1.5TB for each of two LUNs in your iSCSI target server
2. Rescan the adapters (you should get a listing for all LUNs)
3. Go to Storage and create one 1.5TB as Datastore
4. Press the right click -> Properties
5. And please use the button “Increase” to extend the LUNs
6. Please following the options to complete and you should get larger than 2TB LUNs in VMware.
