Question
I installed the Infiniband 40Gb/s Mezzanine card into my SBI-7126T-S6 Blade server and tried to boot from the PXE server. I had the Infiniband switch in the Blade enclosure and confirm it’s in good working condition. However, the DHCP client in the Infiniband boot ROM did try to obtain the IP from my DHCP server, but failed. How can I get the PXE boot work?

Answer
The Infiniband version of the PXE boot is called FlexBoot. The protocol it uses is not the standard Ethernet protocol. Your DHCP and PXE server must have the IPoIB (IP over Infiniband) driver installed to support the FlexBoot.

You can download the driver from: http://mellanox.com/content/pages.php?pg=products_dyn&product_family=34&menu_section=34#tab-three

More information can be found in the FlexBoot user manual (http://mellanox.com/related-docs/prod_software/FlexBoot_user_manual.pdf).
