I want to assemble X8DTE-F and 836E16-R1200B. What kind of cable I should use to connect the on-board SATA to the expander connector on the backplane. Also, which expander connector I should connect to?

The part number of the cable you should use is CBL-0116L. It is a cross-over cable. With this cable the signal can be transmitted both ways. You should connect to primary_J0.
