Question
We have a problem with server 5086B-TRF. The server can't boot up when plugging in CPU board (X8OBN-CPU) to slots 3 and 4 mainboard (X80BN-F).
The system can boot up and show POST with two CPU boards on slots 1&2, but if added two more CPU boards on slots 3&4, it won't work. The processor is Westmere-EX 10C E7-8870 (Use Dual CPU each CPU Board); DDR-1333 ECC/REG DIMM(4 dimms per CPU board). Any idea?

Answer
For 8 CPU (4 CPU cards), 32 DIMM is minimum to make system work. 4 DIMM per CPU board is not enough.
Please check the pages 1-6 of the user manual for reference.
